While they were still speaking about this, He stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you"
-Luke 24:36
Again and again as Jesus appears to his disciples He says "Peace be with you." He longs to give them his peace and remove all fear from their minds. He longs to give us that peace also-the quieting of our souls so we can hear what it is our Lord is saying to us. Help us this week to try and accept this precious gift and leaves our fears, tribulations and chaos behind.
"Peace be with you"
-John 20:19
In this week's Gospel Jesus appears twice to his disciples and each time the first thing He says is "Peace be with you." Nothing else matters. Nothing else is necessary. They, like us, are just to be in His presence and let all thoughts, feelings and worries melt before Him. Once this happens, all that is left is to listen to His instructions and act. As this week opens before us, let us strive to have the peace of Christ and listen for His instructions.
