The second day of the Paschal Triduum, the PASCHAL SABBATH, begins as the sun sets on Good Friday and continues until sunset on Holy Saturday. This is the day on which Christ rested from all his labors in the tomb. The faithful are reminded that customs and traditions which were once held on this day in anticipation of the Resurrection are to be reserved for Easter night (after the Vigil) and the day that follows (Easter Sunday). The Paschal Fast continues throughout this day, as we contemplate Christ in the tomb and await the joy of the Resurrection that is to come.
